Dear Assemblymember Evans,

I am writing to ask you to OPPOSE A.B. 1024.

It is my understanding that A.B. 1024 would abolish the California Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.  As a Building Code Official in the state of California, I believe that the public interest is best served when the judgment of technical qualifications and evaluation of professional competence of engineers are made by state licensure boards with members who are themselves licensed professional engineers and land surveyors.   I strongly believe that State licensure boards are essential to the protection of the public health, safety and welfare with respect to the buildings that we live, work and play.

Please help protect the public health, safety and welfare by opposing A.B. 1024.
